heres the deal. im getting into heavier off roading and want my truck to be able to keep up with my buddies. it has a 3 inch factory off road package lift and i clear 33s stock without any cutting. i want to upgrade to a dana 44 front axle or maybe a pair of dana 60s. now ive been looking online and every post i see is from years ago so the links are dead. i want to know where i can get a kit. where i work i have a full shop and have a fab guy on hand to make custom brackets if needed, and access to any axle. i also have a few guys that build off road vehicles to help me if necessary. everythings there except a supplier. i need to see where to get a kit or anyone that has done this your dimensions for the swap. i plan on keeping this truck for a long time (my dad bought it brand new in 97 and at 100k when the motor blew i bought a new motor and got it put in and inherited the truck. eventually down the road (5-10 years) i want to put a cummins 4bt or 6bt in there so the strait axle is a good front support. right now im undercoating the truck to keep it all preserved and nice for the long road ahead of it. it needs patch panels on the bed and im going to buy a set of those this winter and fix the rest of the dents and dings. i definitely have the motivation and time and money but im just lost on where to get a kit or guide. anythings appreciated, thanks

 

There is no kit, nor guide for our truck. It's all do it yourself custom work. There's a few people on here who have done them however, 4.2trimble for one did a pretty amazing swap but probably a little more than what your looking for. And there's another person but I can't think of their name right now.

Dimensions all depend on choice of axle and suspension components you decide on. For example if you decide to use a dana 60 for the front you should use the leaf mounts from those and make the perches the right distance as they where from the truck you pulled the leafs from. Once you choose axle's you should build around them to work with your truck.

User Klitch runs a solid axle and did all of his own work (forget which one) lifted and blown. Search for his threads, havent seen him on here in a while but there may be some good write ups about it.

They did but as far as I know farmboy fab is no longer around, they where moving shops a year or so back and I don't think they ever re-opened and started making stuff again.

And yea Klitch was the other person I was trying to think of.

 

Yeah farmboy left florida and was supposedly opening a shop more north but I never heard anything more about him.

Yup no kits anymore, however you may be able to adapt some things for other vehicles to what you need to save a little time and possibly money trying to design.

Check out those sites and you might be able to find parts to use depending on what axle and other main components you decide to go on. Ruffstuff will most likely have something that will help you.

But if you have a full shop, fab guy, and people that build off road vehicles to help you this really shouldn't be that hard for you to get it done.

 

Sounds exactly like my situation except im already lifted and on 37s. Would love some dana 60s to run 40s on up.
Anywho, im from va beach and from what Ive heard farmboy fab has a shop there now. This is second hand information but I also saw something online about it, ill see if I can't find out if/where there located

 

Yeah he was supposed to be moving somewhere up there last year, but I never heard anything more about him after he left Ft. Myers. It would be awesome if he evers opens back up and finishes producing the SAS kit.

 

Yea it would, even cooler if he opened up in va beach considering it's only about an hour drive for me. I'd go down there just to see big green ha.

Yes they do, but they haven't been active on it in almost a year now. I would go ahead and give up on finding a kit, and just do it custom.
