spark plug and coil pack not getting fire

My brother gave me his 1999 f150 that was not running. The spark plugs and coil pack are not getting fire. How do I solve this problem?

Could use a lighter to catch it on fire

Now if you want spark, first thing I would do is swap the coil with another (assuming its a 5.4 with COP's) and see if the problem transfers to the other cylinder or stays

What motor do you have?
V6, 4.6 or 5.4 v8?
Makes a difference on ignition.

ROTFLMAO.... Nice one Toyz. Check Pats system. It kills ignition. Its brains are in the instrument cluster. If that was changed then the keys need to be programed to the new cluster.

I didn't think any of the 97-03s had COPs thought they were all spark plugs coming from centralized coil pack.

That's correct - for the V6. All 5.4's have cops, as do 4.6's starting around 2000 or so.

The cluster has not been changed, I do have both keys should I maybe try to get them reprogrammed. I saw on the web that the 1999 f150 used the pats II system.
