P0012 code

I have a 04 F150 5.4L that gave me P0340, P0010 and P0012. It idles great but when you go to take off it starts running really rough, so I replaced the VCT solenoids. That got rid of the the P0340 and P0010 codes but the P0012 is still there. I tryed to drive it and it started to run really rough still. Oil Pressure is good. Any Ideas what could be wrong?

P012 = "Intake Valve Cam Timing Over Retarded, Bank One"

$900 to replace the passenger side cam phaser, had it done myself awhile back. They'll try to clip you for $2,000 if you just take it in and say fix it. Get a written estimate on the cost to replace the passenger side cam phaser, should be around $900.

If you have the time and skill you can try it yourself, there are some posts on how to do it.

Most likely the cam timing issue is causing the misfire codes. I would start with the p0012 and p0021 first. What is the history of the truck? What maintenance has been done? Could be VCT solenoids, cam phasers, oil pressure problem, or other timing components.
Here is info for p0012.
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the variable camshaft timing (VCT) position
for over-retarded camshaft timing. The test fails when the camshaft timing exceeds a
maximum calibrated value or remains in a retarded position.
Causes
-Camshaft timing improperly set
- Continuous oil flow to the VCT piston chamber
- VCT solenoid valve stuck open
- Camshaft advance mechanism binding (VCT unit)

P0021 is over advanced cam bank 1. Causes are the same as the p0012.

Guys - need help bad - I have a 05 F150 FX4 that called out the p0012 code. My mechanic (very good and very trusted) tore the engine apart and found the timing guides had disintegrated. Chain hadn't come off. He got a replacement kit and put it all back together but it is still showing a p0012 error. He has torn the engine apart 3 times now trying to figure it out. The truck runs ok cold but as soon as it gets warm, it has in inconsistent idle. He hasn't given up but is at his wits end with this. He has check the oil pan for debris, check the VCT and it seems to be working fine.... He can't grasp the fact that I need a new engine and is willing to look at any potential issue. Can someone please shed any light or possible issues?

Just had my 05 apart and the guides were broken. I don't know how long they had been like that. But all the things these guys talk about.. spark plugs .. the coil packs phasers and the cvts all can be issues. Like someone told me today ! You can keep screwing with or get something else.
