2001 F150 Cruise Control Not Working

The cruise control stopped working on my F150. I got it a few months back and the cruise had always worked fine until last week. It will not engage and the "Cruise" light does not come on at all. Any suggestions?

If it has the "fix" done to it, then check the fuseable link. If it is burned then you saved your truck from going up in flames. Also check for a burnt fuse. And leaking brake fluid around the master cylinder.

That's my guess.

Check the switch on the front of the master cylinder for fluid leakage into the connector.

Better take that in before it burns to the ground.

Disconnect it RIGHT NOW before it goes up in flames. A new switch is about 26 bucks at the dealer.

The 01 should be part of the recall. Lucky that it didn't catch fire yet. Not sure if it can, IF it doesn't work. I'd take it in anyway.

If it already has the recall harness on it, they will not give you a new switch.

If the switch is leaking, it has to be replaced. Check the recall harness for continuity, the fuse may be blown. If it is, with the new improved switch you can remove the harness and connect direct.
