1994-5.0 power loss
i recently purchased my first f150. its a 94 w/5.0 and 135k miles. when going up hills it is losing power. meaning i have to increase pedal to climb even a small incline. this in turn drops it into passing gear and losing gas mileage. i changed plugs, wires, rotor button and dist. cap. this didnt help. then i changed the fuel filter. this didnt help either. im about ready to look into changing out the injectors or have them cleaned out. before i do this, is there any other items i may want to check first?
there is a flashing air bag light and the fuel reset light flashes also but after reswearching i figured that was due to the faulty clock spring in the steering column.
any advice would be great. i really like the truck and i'd like it to last a long time.
BTW..it is 4wd if that matters

does it lose power during normal flatland driving? or just up hills? the 5.0 stock wasnt blessed with bottom end torque, it actually served its purpose better in cars than it did in trucks because its power started to kick in in the mid rpm range. great engine dont get me wrong i really like the 5.0 but its just not meant for a truck.
now assuming it isnt normal for the truck because i'm not driving it so i dont know, does it bog down at wot? any cel? and is the tire size stock?

My 5.8, E4OD with 3:55's was the same way. You have to acquire a "feel" for the pedal to keep it from kicking down a gear and somewhat maintain speed up hills, yes even small hills. I don't think anything was wrong with my truck/is wrong with your truck, just nature of the beast.
I fixed the problem by getting an 04 with a 5.4 and 3:73's

the axle code is a 19. i looked it up and that means 3:55 non-limited slip. i guess i just need to get used to it being fairly weak...huh. i was really hoping to use it to maybe pull a camper or work trailer a little more. gas would kill me though. ill still give the injectors a good cleaning anyway. at least the maintenance can still be done. i like the truck a lot. always been a chevy guy, but its really growing on me
