Lightbulb Raptor e-locker in 2hi mod on e-locking rear diff trucks

***right now i only know the parts for the 2009-2010 f150s so if you have a 2011 do not buy these parts, there are people saying these don't work for 2011***what this does is locks your electronic locking rear differential in 2 wheel high up to 15-20 mph, it also allows you to stay locked in 4 hi & low to unlimited speed.this works great if your in the mud and don't require 4x4 but would like your rear end locked or a fix for your open differential basically like making it like LSD for speeds under 20mph. to acquire this mod you will need part #AL3Z-7E453-DC Motorcraft #TM-233 which is the raptor tccm (transfer case control module) & part #AL3Z-14B166-BA which is the raptor 4x4 control switch located on your dash board, both together should run you about $150 from tascapart.com.. both parts are plug and play with f-150's from 2009 up to 2011 with the electronic locking differential(all fx4's not sure on other trim types). stock 4x4 select switch located on your dash is quite easy to replace with the raptor 4x4 switch.. what i did was stick my fingers in air vent right next to the switch and pull, the silver dash piece will pop up so you can get to the back of the 4x4 switch, unplug the connector in back of switch don't let it fall back into the dash (might be a pain to retrieve).. push the switch towards you from the back side & will pop right out, reverse this process to install raptor switch.. now onto the tccm module. this is a bit of a pain taking it out, took me about 15 minutes to get the module out and about 10 to get the new one in, just in an awkward location.. you will find your tccm module under the passenger kicker panel above your in cabin fuse box, so you kinda have to do this mod with your left hand reaching up into your dash.. there are 2 i think 8mm bolts holding this module to the inside wall of your truck. what i did was loosen the bolt to the left(front of the truck) about half way and completely take out the right bolt (closer to passenger door) slide the tccm out from under the left bolt & drop down so you can see what your doing. next you disconnect the 2 connectors that are on the bottom of your tccm, take raptor tccm plug connectors in corresponding spots & reverse for re-installing the raptor tccm back onto the inside wall of your truck.. now get in your truck start er up & try it out! now that you have the raptor tccm, there is a possible mod you can do to have the raptor off road switch, people are still in the process of working out the kinks with their off road mode but it is out there. i found this mod on another forum & decided to share this with everybody here.. original post on other site start out at page 7 for info and actual installhttp://www.f150forum.com/f38/e-locke...ide-mod-83937/

Very interesting... but if a Raptor can run locked up to a 100mph (correct me if i'm wrong) why would FX4's or other E-locked trucks be only able to run to 20mph, with basically the same computer system and rear??

the raptor locks in 2wd high up to a 100 mph because of its off road switch. the 4x4 select switch allows you to lock in 2 hi up to 20 mph but then you need to push the off road switch to lock it to unlimited speed..

I've been following that thread too, wanted to see if someone on our forum has done it before I did. Do you have any pics of the install? It would be nice to be able to lock the rears at the boat ramp, or just for fun. Did you trip any check engine codes?

Does anybody know if the new raptor tccm will affect anything negatively since its programmed with the 4.10 raptor gear ratio? Does this replace the stock unit which had the correct gear ratio, or is it supplement to what's already there?

Disregard last post, according to the other forum "The speedo and everything work normal. The 4.10 in the catalog is just Ford's way of distinguishing from FX4 to Raptor. It has no effect on the operation of the truck in any way. I drove around some more today to verify all operations work as expected. Dennis"

I ordered my parts last night. Does the instrument show the locker is engaged in 2wd, like it does while in 4x4?

Nice write-up. The pics really help.

This is something I really want to do, along with the off-road switch.

Your 2010 should show it in your gauge cluster.. The 09s only show it on the 4x4 select switchby the led indicator as shown above in my last picture

thanks, im not sure how hard the off road switch is going to be to acquire. looks like the pcm might need to be switched also for that but not sure how that would work out
