choosing the right spacer
choosing the right spacer
I have a 2006 f150 scab 2wd. im getting my ball joints replaced and the mechanic(my friend) said this would be the best time to throw some spacers on the front to level the truck out since he will already be working in that area. what are some recommendations for the spacers I should get? and the size. I want to get as much extra room as I can. Thanks guys
and why will I be replacing ball joints again soon?
I would stick to 2.5 or less. At least on a 2wd you dont have to worry about CV joints, but none the less no need to torture the ball joints. A 2" spacer will put you level anyway, your going to be nose high more and more after that, adding some lift to the rear would fix that, but do your truck a favor and stay away from the 3".

so what would be a good brand?
and am i going to feel much differance in the height?
Yea, you will notice a difference. I would look into AutoSpring or Hell Bent Steel. Both of those make great kits at an affordable price. The AutoSprings provide a little more lift b/c the actual spacer is a little larger. Ill see if I can find the post comparing the two. If you get the AutoSpring spend the extra $10 for the powder coated kit.

My vote is for you to get these.... http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/p...-Leveling-Unit ..... Do it once, do it right. Ya gotta buy 2 of em of course, but your shocks are 5 or 6 years old already, and perhaps their time is running short anyways. I love my 5100's.
