22" or 24" magnaflow?
I need some advice guys. I currently have a 40 series flowmaster on my truck. I LOVE the sound and the noise. My neighbors, landlord and my wife do NOT. I figured if I was going to change out the muffler I should try something else. I've been on youtube, but 95% of the clips are 18" body or smaller. I tried searching here but found pretty well the same thing. I want my truck to still have some rumble. My big thing is I need to quiet down the cold starts (I wake the neighborhood at 5am every morning), something with less drone than the 40 is welcomed too. What do you guys think? I need something much quieter, but I don't want to turn heads or **** off the neighbours anymore. Help please
Edit: truck is an 06 4.6

If your neighbor is only a few feet away its not going to matter if you do a different muffler. I used to hear my neighbors when i lived in town when they started there expedetion with stock exhaust. Its just part of it.....By them ear plugs!! Roush offroad should help

hushpower
add a flowmaster hushpower muffler to your current setup.
I recently put a Magnaflow catback system on my truck and it is a bit louder than I expected. I called Magnaflow and they said to install a small pre-muffler/ resonator. The part they suggested to me was their 4" round 14" long Magnapack. (Magnaflow part number 14419)
I ordering mine soon. Every morning my truck wakes my son up... but I love the sound
(Cat-Conv.)==(Resonator)===(Muffler)=========(Tail-pipe((((
I really think that these newer F150's aren't as sound proof as the prior generation. my '05 seemed much more stable and quiet on the road.

Well the 18" body would be far better to me. I just don't want to have to change the muffler a third time that's all. I'll hop back on youtube and try and get a sense of the 18" magnaflow compared to the 40 series flow. Is there a big difference between the 4x9 oval and the 5x8 oval? I'm thinking the 5x8 will be a pinch quieter? Thanks for the responses so far

Well youtube was kinda useless... Most of the trucks have 14" magnaflows or magnapacks. The couple of 18" body's I managed to find did sound pretty mellow until it was revved up. By my rough thinking the 5x8x18 maggie should be about 50% quieter than the 4x9.5x13 flow on there right now. Thanks guys
