Headlight brightness ?

Will the brightness of the headlight bulb decrease over time or do they just burn out before dimming?

The lumen's will decrease over time, also it will color shift. Thats why you should always replace both bulbs. I bought some Philip's crystal bulbs 2 years ago for my van and I need to change them now. My van has poor poor lighting and the bulbs did help. It's also preference.

So on a truck with 80k miles on it it's prolly about time to swap em out? They seem more dim than when I bought it. Thought I might be just seeing things.

Sale at Amazon -25.99 Net

Just an FYI...I just bought the Philip Extremes for a net of 25.99. Amazon is selling them at 35.99 with free shipping and there is a promo coupon you can print to mail in and get another $10 off.

Or did you mean you might NOT be seeing things anymore???

upgrading to some silverstars or some other high output direct fit lightbulb is a great thing to do... it will give you more light for not much money.

Silverstars are whiter than a normal bulb but are not anywhere near blue.

Same price everywhere, within probably $3 of each other.

I wouldn't spend the money until they quit on you, but that's just me.

I hear ya and hate to BUT I spend a lot of time outdoors on/at my ranch and want them as bright as possible without that stupid (IMO) blue color. Just seems the light is more "amber" than they were when I bought the truck last year.
