Burning Diesel in Torpedo Heater

Burning Diesel in Torpedo Heater
Anyone have or know of someone who uses their torpedo heater and use diesel instead of Kerosene?
I just bought a 125,000 BTU heater from Lowes (http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?...llow&cId=PDIO1) and it says it will run in Kerosene and Diesel.
Can I burn regular diesel fuel in it? I've got plenty of diesel that I run my tractor on. I love the smell of burning diesel anyways... if it's burnt right.
I've been reading that I should use offroad diesel, and some say use regular pump diesel... they refer to the diesel as No.1 heating fuel I guess.
Or should I just run kerosene?
Edit: After doing some reading... burning diesel should be ok... but it cruds it up and will need sooner cleanings. I'm assuming this is true.

I have too, but don't let that sucker start running out. You will have a smoke show. I ran out one time in my shop here at the house. I liked of never found the door to get out.

Kerosene is like a #1 diesel, it has a lower flashpoint then #2 but if it's cheaper and cleaner that's what I would use. Kerosene has been used for over a hundred year's for lantern's and heating and most of the first refineries probably made more kerosene then anything else. Today it's used mainly in aircraft jet engines. Stay away from offroad diesel because of the higher sulphur content.
