every now and then i start the truck and stereo pops? i have a kenwood h/u with kenwood amps for components and sub. whats the deal?

 

May be a bad ground or loose connections

 

Where is your remote wire hooked up to? Popping on start up usually has to do with the remote wire.

 

i am using the remote lead off of the radio. do you think i should go off the fuse box?

 

no, going to the fuse box is usually what causes the issue. are the speakers popping, or just the sub? or both?

 

i think its just the components. not too sure if the sub is.

hey man...i totally missed this thread. what kind of amps are you running? The only thing i can think of is your having the same issue that guys get when they run an aftermarket deck with stock amps...the stock amp requires 5v turn on and the deck sends 12v causing the pop. In that case you would need to an a resistor in series between your headunit and your amps on the remote wire.

The only think i can think of is a resistor man. Im pretty sure radio shack sells one that drops the voltage from 12 to 5. I saw a pic of one in another thread the other day but i cant find it now.
