97 F150 rough start when cold.....

Alright, I've done a search and came up with no one with the same issues as me...the truck starts fine when its warm, just the first time I start the truck, no matter what the temperature outside is, It'll run real rough for 3-5 seconds then die. Then upon restart it starts perfect and idles smooth as glass. The temperature guage stays pegged all time, so I'm thinking maybe a sensor and it's not going into warm-up mode(Open loop/closed loop whichever it is). Anyone on here had the same problem, or know what it may be? I'm unemployed right now and barely draw enough benefits to pay the bills and feed the family, so I can't really throw parts at it if I dont know for sure if it's the problem or not.

Mine did same thing. Is the inside of your tail pipe very black and sooty? Head gasket leaking coolant into combustion chamber.
