I'd be afraid I would burn myself while climbing in/out of the bed.

Got any pics of that lifted Z71 Tahoe?

Thanks offroadn...yeah, if I was concerned about any real hauling or towing, I would have definitely kept my F250.

Thanks Desert Racer. Well, I can take some ribbing especially since I am posting to the Ford forum...lol....but I still love Fords too. Quite honestly, I miss being on this forum since there is a lot more activity going on, but that is also due to a lot more Ford owners out there than Dodge owners, especially with the new Rams. But I do love my trucks!

No problem with the tailpipes at all.

Here's a couple of my Z71 you asked for:

The new Dodge looks alright, a little too much chrome for me. I wouldn't mind having that Hemi under the hood, but I could never see myself buying one. Then again, I never thought I'd buy a Ford so who knows...

I hear ya. If anything really gave me pause, it was the chrome front end. But everything else works so well, I started liking it more over time. The Hemi is awesome, but I am still waiting on the new Ford 6.2L in the Raptor. I made the mistake of checking out the new Raptor and I love it!

I think the truck looks great man.

I had an 07 Cummins for awhile, but one thing led to another and I had way to many negative encounters with the Dodge customer service. By no means did it take away from the truck at all. I just believe that for as much money, time and effort we as "buyers" put into our trucks I think the service should be better. So I got rid of the truck not long after returning back from Iraq and got me a Powerstroke instead.

All and all its differant strokes for differant folks. I honestly dont blame you at all for wanting to try something differant. I was once a GM guy all the way. Had 2 GMC's, 1 Chevy, 1 Dodge and now 1 Ford. I wish more people would try them all out before always making negative comments about them. They all have there up's and they all have there down's.

Those new Hemi 1500 Ram's are NICE trucks, they have certainly come a long way. In fact if money was not an option right now, the Powerstroke would be up for sale and I would be waiting for the brand new 2010 2500 Ram w/ the Cummins in it. Not that I think its better than Ford, cause I really love my Ford, but rather realizing that they are seriously really nice trucks and change is always good sometimes.

Good luck with it buddy! I seriously hope you have a better service department and Dodge dealers around you. They left a sour taste in my mouth but I wont go as far as bashing the company as a whole for it.

Later.

Thanks. Yeah, I had too many real estate investments to worry about when things started getting a bit too scary so I dumped most of my toys. Plus, the gas mileage issue was really bothering me, but I do miss that truck.

Thanks Southern. And agree, a bad dealer or service department will ruin an owners opinion on any make. But so far, so good for me.

Thanks. I totally agree with having too much chrome and working on some ideas for the grille and/or bumpers. One of the reasons I bought the FX4 package on my F250 was the lack of chrome and thought it looked pretty tight with the mods I had planned. I will probably have similar set up with the Dodge in that it will look closer to my two-tone King Ranch F150 with painted bumpers and minimal chrome.

I agree, but then again thats why I didn't get the new Ford F150. They got just as much chrome so... so much for that arguement. Not to mention the Transformer grill and what were they thinking with those darn reflectors in the side mirrors?????

Personally I like the Ram, its a nice truck and them side boxes are badass. Wish my truck had them. I got stuff in my truck that needs to be with me and secured at all times and jus a pain to secure them in the back of my F150. I was looking at them (Ram) for awhile but the prices here were outrageous. Hey Dawg, dunno if someone asked, might have missed it and hope you don't mind me asking but how much did she set you back?

To be quite honest tooo as the Fords go I expected much more from it. The power just blows so the power that Ram engine puts out must be a breath of fresh air. Maybe I'm still pissed and bitter cause I dont see how Ford could put out a truck that water could leak into from the brake light so easily and frequently.

Well anyway....sweet truck man!!

Thanks guys!

Hey 57 rag; yeah, I really did almost pull the trigger on the new F150 even though I wasn't sold on some of the new design elements either. But been enjoying my Fords so much that I just thought I would stay with another F150 until I drove the Ram. Having the Rambox sure is great, and I can't say enough about the power and how smooth the ride is. I also thought the exterior styling was tougher looking. If I actually hauled anything, I probably would have stayed with the F150 and played with that. The F150 still is a sweet truck.

The Ram I bought is fully loaded, top line offering from Dodge so it stickered at $53K. But with the pricing program and rebates they had at the time, I walked out at $41K. Plus, they gave me full market value for my '08 F150 as a trade which covered all my costs, including mods I had in it, and I got 0% financing, so I am only carrying $19K on a fully loaded 4X4. My Ford dealer couldn't touch that even with my fleet pricing and rebates they had at the time. Even if everything was equal, I probably would have changed out for the Dodge after driving around with the Hemi. The Hemi has 390 HP stock; with the mods I have I am pushing past 400 HP. I chirp my huge 35-inch tires every time I take off.

But hey, most folks on this site know me well enough that I change vehicles about as often as most people change their oil, so I am sure another Ford is in my future! Cheers!
