Which coils for 2004 F150 NBS 5.4L

Which coils go in the 2004 NBS 5.4L?

Uneek says DG508's through 2005, but I have seen differently on here.

Aslo, when I change them out where all does the grease need to go and about how much? I changed the plugs about a month ago to get rid of misfire issues and did until about 3 days ago. The misfire is back. I used grease on the plug end of the boot, but that was it. So I guess I will change out the coils also.

And I have a 0420 code to go with all of this. On the 0420 topic, the dealer said it could be all kinds of things and not necessarily just the cat. Is that true or are they pulling my leg?

"DG511" do some searching for the exact instructions. You need to follow the ford tsb to avoid breaking the plugs. the antisieze go's on the end of the plug use only motorcraft plugs or better (denso)

Do some reading. I already changed the plugs and I am talking about the die-electric grease, not the anti-seize.

I use an old plug and ream the inside of the boot and smear some around the top. They say you want to keep it off of the metal diode connection.

Yea , don't grease the plug/spring connect, you need the best possible connection their. Disregard the 420 for now, - misfire first/ reboot/ If the 420 comes back after the misfire is handled. Put on about 20 miles/ reboot or better yet, erase the code. You have to burn the raw fuel out of their, cat's soaked most likely, unless you burnt it up already.

BTW - What the hell is "NBS" NoBullS_ _ _ ?

What about between the coil and the boot? And no grease at all on the plug end of the boot??? And what about the seal where it goes into the head?

You grease the entire insides of the boots, this insulates/focusses pulse to plug /usually on a plug install, you grease the porcelain before hand, but you can carefully dab the end of the boot (this helps the boot slide over the porcelain) I stretch the springs a little on 2V coils and clean spring ends with lacquer thinner before install. Then yes, grease the boot/plug chamber seam.

That should give the idea.
