Fishing Pole Holder

Has anyone heard of a fishing pole holder to put in the bed of your truck? I think I have seen one on one truck but have not seen anything on it.

thanks,
Travis

i used a aluminum rod holder from west marine that held 2 poles on my toolbox. have friend who has about 5 of these in his bed never had a problem.

another option is if you have an 2 door or ext cab pop those caps off the bed rails and put the pole in that, they wont fly out thats how i hold poles on my f250.

Did you get a kit that mounted to your tool box or did you do it yourself?

Honestly, if there isn't I don't know why. On a trip to NC, me and the old lady noticed everyone had them on the front bumper and tires that stuck out waaayyy past the fenders, but not tall. Probably because it's the coast of NC and the sand etc... But wouldn't Cabela's or something like that carry what you need?

That's a very interesting topic. But this field is still new to me. It will be grateful if you give me some
more information about it. Thanks in advance.

Don't know if these would work for you but Cabelas carries a couple different types of rod holders:

heres a couple pics:

the bed cap holes work fine, i always just throw mine there when i go fishing in my f250 or my friends chevy, they will stay there fine. the mount on the toolbox was like $45, wanted stainless to match, they make plastic ones that are like $5-$10

Heres a picture of mine. I used blocks of wood to get past the lip of the box. I use them all the time for my poles and Flag.

I found one that would work at fishing-pole-holder.com. So far they aren't in production but it looks like what you're looking for.

That bumper mounted rod holder is probably the worst truck accessory I have ever seen! and a terrible place to store your rods too! Decent rod holders can be made with some PVC pipe and a little imagination. I've seen people in my neck of the woods using PVC to hold their 130 test tuna rods and those things weigh about 50 lbs with the reel!
