Whats Wrong with my Floor Jack?

The jack only goes up so far under a load, then i can pump all I want, it won't go any higher. Its barley enought to get a wheel off the ground. It does not drift downward once the load is jacked up.

I tried to open the fill screw port to fill it with oil, but when I turned the screw a bit, oil started to come out, so I guess it is full.

Any ideas on whats wrong? or if this is fixable.

Thanks

Not sure, but I've got a few jacks back in Ocala with this same problem, so I'm curious what the issue is and how to fix it.

We've had an MVP floor jack for about 18 years, and finally this past week it has been starting to do this. I better start looking for new floor jacks.

I think it is the hydraulic cylinder starting to go.

Could be low on fluid, could just need a rebuild. If there's a good hydraulic place in your town it might be cheaper to rebuild it than to replace it with a new one. I had one rebuilt about 15 years ago and it's still working fine.
