carport and fading paint

carport and fading paint

should i be worried about my paint on my 07scab fading being parked under a car port?

I don't think so...wouldn't that help it from fading?

I don't think so...the paints and clear coats are so good now they really help against that. Just keep some wax on the truck.

There are several factors which will contribute to the pigment fading... Dark colors as opposed to light colors, the amount of sunlight the truck is exposed to, and surface protection... If you are concerned about keeping your truck under a carport consider the size of the port, when your truck may be exposed to the sun (morning or afternoon), and the length of time it is exposed... I also have an '07 which is bright red and use a carport... I must say that mine is very large, 20 feet wide and 33 feet long... It also has a six foot fence running down each side... My truck receives no direct sunlight under my port... truck covers will aid in protection if you have limited space...

------i gotta snap a pic for you guys. size wise im on the end and my hood is exposed if i back in. ive heard horror stories here in colorado about hail storms so im paranoid. just sucks that my truck isnt completely covered.
