Its an alright kit, you can see it mounts to the tie rods with those u-bolts which is kinda cheap IMO but the brackets are beefy and they are quality fasteners. The universal nature of the shocks and how they attach makes it possible to change to different shocks down the road. Installation is kinda straight forward, the instructions call for some trimming on the rack bracket on the passenger side but i bolted the bracket in to see where it hit, and it didn't so i decided not to cut the chunk off the instructions called for. Attaching the shocks was the hardest thing the rubber grommets make it tough to get enough threads showing to start the nuts so what i did was attach the tie rod brackets, placed a few wrenches between the fixed collar and the shock tube to prevent it from bottoming out and a friend pushed the tire in as hard as he could suppressing the rubber enough to start the nut

You should be all set, length of shocks, hmm not sure if i had to throw a number out there i would say they are about 14 inches fully compressed and up to 20 some odd inches when fully extended, and on the truck they are extended about 6 inches when the wheels are straight, and extend accordingly as the wheels are turned one way or the other

Well i recieved my steering stabilizers from fabtech and installed them in 30 min with no problem and no mods needed.The stabilizers fit perfect.Thanks to everybody that helped out and a special thanks to rdnk217,sbchris and eveyone else that helped out.

i opted not to get these for my kit but what benefits does it have? I have had my kit for a month now with no steering issues

 

I got them because i could feel the bumps and humps on the road especially when passing over a bridge on the hwy

 

Its supposed to keep your tires from wanting to jump and steer the truck when you hit bumps and potholes, kinda like a dampener, i ran my truck for a few weeks with the lift before i got a chance to put the kit on, an i could tell the difference on dirt roads, out here the runoff from the heavy rains in the summer cuts the road to pieces leaving it like a washboard and the stabilizers smooths the steering out and i would think it extends the life of the rack because its not getting pummeled all the time, the shocks take the edge off, its just another bell and whistle

 

i wonder if these would fit on my truck its lowered 4-6 on 24's since putting the 24's on the truck wants to wonder on the road in rough parts of the road

 

If your info is right, and your truck is a 93 it wouldn't works because its a different steering setup, 04 an up uses a rack and pinion instead of the traditional steering box with linkage, but you could look into it, im sure one of the lift companies makes a steering stabilizer of some sort for that generation, but being lowered brings in the question of fitment

 

No not for my 93 its a trailer queen it gets driven in and out of my enclosed trailer for shows and gets maybe two miles a year on it lol I'm looking for one for my 04 supercrew I'm thinking my tie rod ends are getting bad cause I can move my steering wheel with the key on there's play in it

 

The kit should work but you will have to make some mods to the kit you will have to cut some parts to make them shorter

 

I was under my truck this afternoon instead of mounting it like above for the 4x4s I think I will have to mount it in front of the cross member cause I don't have room to mount it to the steering rack since being lowered

 

haha that makes more sense, yeah lowered truck that might be a bit of a challenge
