When the Edge is programming your PCM, it is replacing data that is stored there with new data. I honestly cannot remember if programming the PCM "zeros" the trip odometer, but I think it does (at least with a Gryphon). I'd just ignore the trip reset button if I were you while the PCM is being programmed. You don't want to confuse things.

And, the dealership won't know much of anything - leave them out of the loop.
