Thoughts on lifted 2wd trucks

I was just curious what everyone thought of lifted 2wd trucks. I've never really given it much thought. I always thought that 2wd guys liked to lower their trucks. But I just had my '05 FX4 totaled out and I'm looking for a new truck. I live in Hawaii and trying to find an F-150 4x4 in good shape is like pulling teeth. Trying to find one already lifted is even harder. I found a nice lifted 2wd with low miles, looks like it's never been off road, has dvd screens in the headrests for my kids, and it drives nice for a lifted truck. But it's 2wd. I don't know why, but to me that seems wrong. I do minor offroading (camping, hauling dirt bikes out of a sometimes muddy motocross track) that wouldn't necessarily require 4wd, but it definitely helps. Anyway what are your thoughts. Here's a link to pics of the truck.

The truck looks good, I dont see nothing wrong with lifting a 2wd, hell theres a lot of lifted 4 wheel drive trucks that dont even use 4wd. I dont see a difference.

Im sure plenty of other people on here will have comments to make but it looks good regardless of 2 or 4wd. I would lift mine in a heartbeat if I had the money.

a 2wd can look just as good plus extra ground clearance is always nice. If you dont really need it just get the 2wd just remember whether you need it or not settling on a truck can really come back to haunt you. So it really comes down to what YOU want.

If that is what you want, then it looks great, otherwise, get what you want.

Aren't prerunners just basically lifted 2WD's (plus a whole lot of other upgrades)?

I think that truck you linked to looks sweet.

Clean truck. I see nothing wrong with a lifted 2wd, but my opinion may be a bit biased. But seriously, with a good LSD and tires, you will do pretty decent off road. I take mine camping a few times a year and you have to do some minor off roading to get to the campsites. Mine has never let me down. And she looks great the 90% of the time she is on the road.

my 2wd is going up soon. alot of people say whats the point to lift a 2wd or lower a 4wd for that matter but its all personal preference and what someone needs.
