Odometer reset question

I purchased a FX4 cluster for my truck. Does anyone know who can change the mileage to match my truck for a reasonable price? Thanks, Autoworker

dont mean to be a jerk but......

If you would have taken 5seconds to do a search you would find tons of threads about it.

yes it can be done take it to a dealer they can do it but you have to document the mileage

Its very expensive to change if you can find someone to do it, I couldn't so I bought one with higher mileage and had the dealer swap when they matched

I'm not aware of one dealer that will change mileage, for liability issues.

You'll need to find a local speedo shop that has a very expensive tool, when I looked there wasn't one anywhere close to me.

You can find them online, but they'll charge 300,400,500+. I wouldn't recommend this route as it's expensive.

Do a search and hit up some people with pm's on where they got theirs done.

What happens if you don't get it reset? Buy one with about the same mileage and swap. Buy one with higher mileage and swap. Buy one with lower mileage, document the mileage diff and switch. As long as you document and everything, and you're not doing it to defraud, what is the problem? Ford should have just kept the mileage in the computer and not in the cluster.

yea probly not. but i dont plan on selling mine anytime soon and its already got over 120K so my truck is probably only worth about $5k now anyway lol. i never could find a place to reset the mileage and i was gonna buy a brand new fx4 cluster but the dealer told me it was gonna come with 0 miles on it, not programmed to my mileage.

If you buy a cluster new from ford it comes with whatever mileage you want. They are cheaper than getting one reprogrammed

scorpio333, nailed it.

PS: I hate it when people give fabricated information just for the sake of posting.
