High flow cats

What do high flows actually do? make the exhaust louder while giving more throttle response? do they not affect throttle repsonse? do they give a deeper tone?
Any answers would be great. i dont want to order something that is not gonna help me out in a way.

makes the exhaust louder due to better flow. they do affect throttle response due to the better exhaust flow throughout the cats. magnaflow 94106 is the loudest high flow cat they make. definately will wake your exhaust up. 40% louder is the norm

also, those stock cats are so damn restrictive. they are on there for one reason and one reason only, to make the truck QUIET! (and emissions, but who cares about that LOL)

so i could either cut my cats out (only have 2) since its an 08 or get the high flows? i mean we dont have emissions test down here and i am not worried about the noise haha. but i know that paying for the highflows and install would be more than just cuttin the stock ones out.

your truck wont run well without any cats. it will sound like chit too. cut out your 2 cats, and replace with 2 high flows. thats your best bet for sound and volume

Well I have the Magnaflow highflow cats (removed the 4 stock on a 2004 5.4 liter), borla duals, and a magnaflow X-pipe. The truck was quiet but sounded good at WOT until I added the high flow cats. Now it drones big time if you touch the throttle up to about 2250 RPM. My wife refuses to ride in the truck. So, I am looking for two quiet mufflers to replace the Borlas. Hope you have better luck.

If you have a blower are runing a higher comp ratio then Zero cast are the answer assuming you get a tune too go with the mods. Now if you live in a stae or an congestied area where smog testing is used you can still get around a 3 sniff test but a 5 sniff will get you either way. Trust me ive been playing the cat game for over 10 yrs now
