what kind of transfer case and transmission do i have

its a 97 ford f150 4x4, she took a **** and she needs to be fixed any help at all will be highly appreciated... thanks!!!!

Because from around the early 90's to present, that is what Ford put in the Crown Vics, Mustangs, Mark VIIIs, F150s. Some of the trucks early on had a something 40 transmission and the Lightning had a heavy duty something 100.

If you want to know for sure, look at the trans code on your door jam sticker and google Ford transmission codes to find out what you have.

This web address tells you a few things about your truck if you punch in your vin#.

I wonder what a transfer case would cost at a salvage yard?

Some of the 97's and 98's with the 5.4 had a E4OD. You do need to check the trans code on the door sticker.

Thanks for letting us know the result. I knew my 94F1504x4 with 302 v8 had an E40D, but I didn't know they put that behind the 4.6.

glc evidently knows his stuff!!
