Nothing unless you ask them to and then about the only way to really fix the holes and have something that would stay and stand up to any abuse is to fill the hole with metal. Doing this would consist of welding in small pieces the size of the hole or just by building up weld in the hole and grinding it back down smooth. It would be alot of work and I won't even venture to guess what it would cost to have it done. You also have to consider that 95% of the spray-in shops out there don't have the capability to do this work and you would be taking it to a body shop or someone that does weldind first then back to the spray dealer.

 

Let them know you want the holes covered up and they will place metal tape over the holes and then spray over them. You won't be able to tell a hole was ever there. We do it all the time.

 

Well you can allways take the easy way out.

It is aluminum tape used for air conditioning duct work and would work fine. If the place your getting to do the spray doesn't have it you can pick it up at any hardware store.

 

Incorrect again, it's a thicker mil tape and costs about $60/roll and "hardware stores" don't carry it. LINE-X dealers have been using it for years with zero problems.

 

Never said it would be a problem, just never thought of using it. Once you mentioned it I could see where it would work very well, even the thinner mill aluminum duct tape would work covering these small 1/2" holes. That is if it was just a 5th wheel hitch and not a gooseneck hitch. How well does the tape work covering these bigger holes? Thanks for the heads up on the tape. I have never had the situation come up needing holes covered like this except one time when doing my cousins Bronco all over and we welded up the holes in it.

 

On larger holes we double up the tape and then are careful not to indent the tape in the center. Then texture it lightly when spraying at first (to heat it up and make it stronger with the texture), then spray away.
