When you say "the factory is at 196", are you saying this is the ect at which the thermostat opens or the optimum operating temp

If either, is this the temp you feel the low speed fan should come on?
Now you've got me thinking cuz I have my fans set at 202/212 as measured with an IR thermometer. Do you feel the measurement at the radiator would be that much different than the actual ect? Don't mean to be a pain with the questions, I'm just concerned like you as I'm preparing for a 1200 mile trip through south Texas!
