2001 5.4 DIY Questions

1) when the manual mentions "left" and "right" side of the engine, they mean passenger=right and driver's=left correct

2)Where are the 2 mega fuses?

3)Where is the junction block bracket? It mentions to disconnect two bulkhead connectors, a single wire connector, and a 16 pin connector. Is it bolted to the firewall of the compartment ton the right side?

Are you using a 2001 manual? The 2001 uses a fusible link to protect the circuit. 1997-98 uses a mega fuse system. What are you taking apart?

EDIT: Forgot to post; Yes, passenger side is the right side of the truck. Think of it as if you were sitting in the cab.

JMC, I have the "Haynes Ford Pick-ups and Expedition 1997 thru 2003 2wd, 4wd" repair manual.

I am going to replace the lash adjusters and I'm trying to figure out where the components are located to move out of the way before I unbolt the valve covers. Megafuse is one thing I could not find in the Haynes Manual.

The bracket holding the engine harness is in the way of the valve cover. To get to it you need to disconnect the cables on the starter motor relay switch that is on the firewall. The 97-98 models have a Mega Fuse holder bolted to the bracket and that is why that cable needs to be removed. In your case the cables may or may not be in the way of removing that bracket.
