Results: Gryphon canned tunes 4.6

The truck: 2005 scab 4.6 2wd 3.73 81,000 miles
The tuner: gryphon
The setting: tow canned
The mods: gotts intake with K&N filter, silencer removed, roush off road exhaust, FF dynamics 6000 cfm e-fans, 32" tires
The results: 7.2x 0-60, 19.x mpg, 30 mpg cruising at 60 mph

Not bad for a little 281 with 4 cats

That is impressive!

I took a trip around town today to see exactly what my EDGE had changed, and it was significant. 0-60 on the modified tow tune, thanks to BlueJay, was through the roof compared to the OEM program. I managed to pull a 7.09, a far cry from the original 10.xx from before.

I agree, Im sorry but I honesly dont think thats correct. Especial with a tow canned, maybe with a fuel saver tune maybe? hehehe But then again I dont know much about the 4.6 mpg average is either. I just thought the 4.6 and 5.4 were pretty close.
However nice mods!

I dont think the f150 would get 30mpg if you pushed it. Thought i read somewhere the MPG was off on the tuners. I wish i could get over 13ish on my 4.2L with 32's

That's what the instant MPG says. It's basically for seeing how your driving habits effect your fuel mileage.

When I first hooked up my Gryphon it was telling me that I was getting mileage in the low 20's avg. That was on the canned level 2 tune and quite a few pretty hard runs. Someone clued me in that the mpg will be off on the high side when first installed and will settle in with a little bit of time and driving. Sure enough it has - now avg 15 - 17 which is still a bit higher than the 14 - 16 I was getting before.

That would make a little more sense but 30 still seems high? Maybe he only drives downhill bothways?

Got to get me one of those. Still I'm concerned about warranty issues. I about all the cautions to go through when servicing. What happens if I can't reflash original settings due to something major? It's just my unease...

Well I have no warranty to worry about! And I have never heard of anyone having major issues with it. If it goes to the dealer and gets reflashed without you returning it to stock the only thing messed up is the Edge from my understanding? And you can get that recovered from Edge for a fee.

Maybe it was a typo and supposed to be 20. Lots of guys get 20 at that speed.

I know what you mean I was the same way. Im pretty sure EDGE and PHP will say it wont voild your warranty. However "depending on your dealing you might get a differant story. My dealer is pretty cool and havent had any issues with it being in my truck. However I now set it back to stock and take the Tuner out and only takes what 5 minutes and thats to remove everything edge, pod, cable. So they have NO way to know you had it hooked up if thats what your worried about. All i can say is I know it may be a hard decision, but I will say this the tuners rock! Hands down night and day differance!!

Good Luck and BTW nice truck!

I checked my mpg on my 4.6 after i got my exhaust... Im gettin 22 on highway, but thats drivin from full to empty non stop on interstate at 60 mph. Im hopin if i got an intake and the evolution with gryphon tunes (when it comes out for the 09's i can get around 24). That would be nice for a truck!

uhhhhhhhhhh.... yeah buddy. read the full post instead of just the words "30 mpg." I said with my mods, my truck's options, and cruising at 60 mph (i repeat CRUISING) for over 60 miles on a flat freeway not downhill... yes indeed 30MPG AVERAGE NOT INSTANT. why would i go on this site and freely advertise for PHP or edge. why the **** would i care if they got more business. dont get me wrong, i hope they do, but it's just ridiculous that you try calling me out. for what my truck is i think it's the **** and that's it end of story. it's good on gas, quick, and looks awesome... be jealous dude
