Ditto on the prep work... spend a good 6 hours or more on prepping. Here are some tips when I did mine a couple years ago. It has held up pretty nice.
Herculiner Tips
I did pick up a $40 rubber mat for the bottom. I pretty rough on it and you can scratch through the Herculiner. But if you find the Herculiner on sale like I did its a really good deal.
