I have the same problem with my gear swap. I had the factory 3.55 replaced back in January to a 4.10 . It had a whine to it and they replaced the ring and pinion got it back and it still whined. It did it at the same speed on both sets of gears. Between 40 and 50 mph both times. Took it back the last time and they said that most aftermarket gears have a slight whine to them. Then took it to a Ford dealer and the tech said that that is actually quiet. So I changed the fluid this weekend and checked everything and it appeared ok. I'll run her til she blows up.
