I would think the drain on the alternator would be extremely high, just like the stock fan. Not sure. That's why I'm asking.

I have made the 350 mile trip from my house to Troyers shop more than 50 times over the past several years. I have their efans on my truck and can say that I have never had them turn on while making this trip unless I make a stop along the way. I have had them on my truck for over 70,000 miles and they have never failed me. I do have mine pulling power from a wire directly below the ECU in the engine bay instead of from the fuse box inside the cab.
I tow, run my truck hard occasionally, and they have been fine.
