Derale Dual 16" fan mounting brackets

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here has tried this Derale Dual mounting kit with 16" fans and if it was a good / durable bracket?

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DE...1/?image=large

I am installing a new radiator thanks to my Troyer mounting pins for my fan kit wearing holes in my radiator tubing and now I have leaks......

Hoping this may be a good mounting kit.

Thanks

Yes, anything that hold them and dosent go through the radiator is a good bracket. Its strength shouldn't have to be a question, fans only weigh 1-2 pounds, max. Simple aluminum will do.

Thanks,

I was more concerned about how this bracket mounts in the engine bay with the 16" fans attached and hoping to hear from someone that has actually used this bracket. I may look into fabbing one from items available at home depot too

I do appreciate your opinion

As long as they are Derale Tornado fans they will work/fit no problem

Thanks,

Well, if the Troyer fans are Derale Tornado fans then maybe it will work. I have the Troyer fans in my signature....not sure what brand Troyer sells in his kits.

I just went to the garage and checked one of the fans I got from the Troyer group buy...no brand name on it anywhere, just a customer p/n. Hand written on the side of the fan was 5709 GT, but that's all.

mine are custom made with 3/4s inch wide metal stripping i got at menards for 3 bucks for 3 feet. I custom fit them so now they go in one way no messing around and adjusting like you will with a veriable size kit like that. Just my opinion. I was looking at those for awhile but just rather make my own, more fun that way too!

I have the Troyer e-fan setup and I have to say the mounting brackets are well made and fit the fans perfectly. The Troyer system uses the Deralle Tornado fans with what I assume is a mounting bracket of their design. I looked at the Summit link and it looks like it would work just fine. The nice thing about the Troyer setup is that it is an easy bolt on bracket, everything lines up and bolts on.

my total cost for 2, 2800cfm fans, controller unit and custom brackets and indicator lights is about $127. The only way i would ever buy the troyer kit is if it were priced the same, other than that i would of rather put that money toward a mild lowtomid cam for an additional 45 hp at the wheels than maybe 3hp im just saying. I guess we will see how long this stuff lasts though. Thing with that is, i still have 4 fans and 2 controllers to go before i exceed the price of the troyer kit. Im happy with what i have tho good enough for who its for!
