NOTHING is reliable when you start pushing north of 600hp. It doesn't matter if you spend money on all the right parts and have a dialed-in tune...something is going to fail one way or another. I've been working on a 8-second street Mustang the last 18 months of which it has been actually running maybe 4 of them. Engine, transmission, driveshaft, rear end, fuel system all built to handle at least twice the 1000 or so hp this car is making. Broke the timing chain, bent valves and pushrods, and now it's stripped down to the shortblock again. A truck isn't more or less susceptible to such things either. Who would be posting in this forum if everyone just built cars to be quick? How boring.
