EGR question - no vaccuum hose attached

My EGR valve has a small port atop it where I believe a vaccum hose should go, however, there is not a hose attached to it. So, fromm where would this hose attach to the my EGR valave so I can find it and re-attach it?

I assume you have a 4.2, but what year is the truck? Please fill in your profile info.

Just look around the left side of the intake and around the EGR and all the heater hoses, PCV hoses and such and you'll see a small hose with a 90 degree bend connector on the end. That's the piece you need. It's tiny so you gotta look closely.

Good tip, glc. Thought I did it, but that was in another forum. It's in the signature now. 4.2l, 1999, auotmatic.

I found it, dangling with a bolt in it to plug it. Someone must have thought it would help something. I re-attached it and we'll see if that 0401 code goes away now.

Thanx for the help.
