Lightbulb RETRAX bed cover group buy for new owners??

There are some guys in the TALON club (Texas Area Lightning Owners North) are trying to get 10 or so guys together for a group buy like we have done may times before. I bought mine in May and love the heck out of it! Nothing but compliments on it... So sign up if you want to purchase one in the next little while. Last time we did it they knocked off $100 bucks to 850 plus shipping and threw in a weatherstrip gasket kit. Thanks guys!

Is it $850 with shipping for a manually operated bed cover that is taking up 8" of space in my already short 6 foot bed? If this thing is electric then I am interested.

Terry -

This needs to be run past Steve for GP approval or needs to be
promoted on NLOC

No it is not powered, I think that is a gimick to sell lesser covers. This one is the finest rolling cover for nice trucks 12 ball bearings in the slides, no spring loaded lid, you can stop it in any position, aircraft Lexan is shiney, beautiful, light and strong. No vynil cover to fade or tear. Powdercoated rails and housing. It takes up 11' of the bed but that is the trade off for not having to remove a hard cover for large items. Personal preference I guess.

I've said it before, I'll say it again......Damn good bed cover.

I'm with 'Apex in that electric covers are a gimick. Plus they would open slllllllllooooooooow.

One question for ya Apex.

Did your Retrax come with a 'peg' so you can lock it in the open position? I race with mine open and have had to rig a long bungee cord to hold it open. Kinda cheesy but it works.

Time to go to Lowes and dig up some goodies.

Hey Speedy Bob I always race with mine closed it kills the drag that builds behind the cab. There is no open lock peg the rear peg is for anti prying deturent. Look under the latching mechanism there is a jam nut and set screw you can adjust the holding tension. So back off that nut and turn in the screw a half turn or so until the tension is satisfactory. I will try and throw up a pic.. The TALON forum is at http://nloc.org/ubb/Forum18/HTML/000265.html or http://nloc.org/cgi-bin/forumdisplay...ALON&number=18

Silver_2000_!,

Just curious, why would you want to promote another site off of Steve's site? IMO, It seems that Steve would do much better allowing someone to make mention of a group purchase, not actually organize it, on his site rather than sending them to another site. This isn't a flame and hopefully it doesn't upset you...I'm sure it won't because speak your mind also.

I wasnt promoting anything. I was trying to keep L8apex from running afoul of the GP rules. One way to do that is to NOT promote the GP here.

TALON has a Forum on NLOC. L8Apex has already mentioned the GP there. L8Apex has said he has contacted Roger and will contact Steve. So All is well... So far.... If Not I will kick L8Apex's butt at hooters this evening
