Any chance the cause of the bent valve was over rev ving the motor?
Possible valve float at high rpm, allowing the piston to kiss the valve just enough to bend to valve.
Maybe a weak valve spring allowed the valve to get out of control?
Sorry to hear about the problem - just throwing out ideas of what might have been the root cause.
