when your towing do you have the OD on or off? if you leave it on you are putting huge loads on the engine and trans. i had a tech 2 on my truck took it for a drive the engine was under 90% load doing 40 in 4th i took the OD off i think the truck went to 2nd or 3rd but it then only had 20% load. OD puts a very big load on the engine and trans and will cause them both to get hott if towing in OD.

as for an aftermarket cooler are you going replace your stock one or add another one along with your 2 stock ones? what ever you do do not take the trans lines out of the radiator the coolant going by the trans lines helps keep the temp under control built54 told me he took it out of there and put it to a big cooler and his trans temps went very high untill he put it back threw there.

i would say fallow the inlet line to the cooler coming out of the radator. then un hook the trans line on the outlet of that cooler find what size line it is get some fittings and some more pipe pipe it to the other aftermarket cooler then back to the trans. ive done this once before on a bronco helpd out alot!

hope this helps!
