Might want to check out Adams Polishes. They have a haze/swirl remover, follow up with a revive polish. Did a great job on my truck a few weeks ago. They have a forum you can post questions as well.

meguirs - Clay it first - Deep Crystal Polish - NXT 2.0 Wax
Did my 09 Screw 2 weeks ago. It still had the paper plates on it. It worked awesome made the new paint look even better. Then I did my wife's 03 Jeep Liberty (black also, very neglected paint). Used some Scratch X between the clay and polish. It almost looked as good as my truck. Light scratches, swirl marks and water spots are gone. TRY IT!

I bought a detailing book just for laughs and was looking through it and to get rid of and avoid swirl marks they recommend that you not apply it in a circular motion. I have a random orbital machine that I use and seems to work pretty good. My truck is long overdue for a wash, polish and wax too now that I think about it.

As far as what products, everyone has their favorites. I've almost always used Meguires. I did buy a can of Blue Coral paste wax years ago and used it on my Mustang and it looked beautiful. What it boils down to is personal preference. I did a lot of trial and error, I really like the Meguire's 3 step system....paint cleaner, polish, wax. The Meguire's cleaner wax works good too if your paint isn't too neglected.

Why hide or conceal?

correct it and take care of it...any concealer product is just a band aid.

Why are you getting the "scratches", micro marring, spider webbing int he first place? Bad washing technique is 90% of it.

My advice would be to read the detail sticky, visit some websites, pick up the right tools and products, correct the issues and modify how you wash your truck and your problems will go away.

Before:

After:

Concealing products cannot do that.

Results....after correction and good wax

EDIT, where in AR are you....we've got one of the best detailer's around in Atkins.

Black looks best if you use a pure carnauba as a LSP (last step product). However, the secret is what you use and how you use products between that and the initial wash.

i guess you have to wash your truck every now and then to to make it stay pretty. i havent washed mine in over 6 months. when i do it looks like i just ran through a mud puddle with white mud on the drivers side so i leave it dirty to hide it so it blends in. but maybe i will try to take off the concrete or whatever it is on the paint so it looks good again. but then again i can wash my truck and the next day its covered in dust. i guess thats what i get for living in the country a dirty truck.

I agree!

My Black Truck Waxing Steps...
1. Optimum No Rinse Wash with a Chenille mitt
2. Optimum Poli-Seal if needed
3. Optimum Opti-Seal
4. Meg NXT 2.0 (24 hours later)
5. Blue Velvet or Supernatural DoDo Juice
