schrader valve

Can some one send me a pick of this...im pretty sure i know where it is but i just want to make sure...I want to change my fuel filter...I took the MAF apart from my air box and cleaned it and it helped my engine out well and i also cleaned my throttlebody and that helped it too...but Ive been told to also replace my fuel filter to help the mialage and performance some...Is changing the fuel filter any harder than what i have already done?thanks

Mine was a pain in the ****. Bought the tool and struggled. I found out a few things that made a difference.
I like the scissor style tool better than the other style.
If it was undercoated clean connections withcarb cleaner first.
Use a little wd-40 on the connections beforehand.
A little on the new filter connectors doen't hurt either.
Now it's a piece of cake.

On your 1997 FORD TRUCK F150 1/2 TON P/U 4WD, the FUEL FILTER is:UNDER VEHICLE, DRIVER SIDE, BELOW SEATING AREA, NEAR FUEL TANK, MOUNTED ON FRAME RAIL IN FUEL LINE

.

Pcv valve can be straight of 90 degrees like the one in the photo.

I still have the original one in my 98 with 112,000 miles. Real easy to check, Just remove shake and if it rattles it's OK. Check the grommet it fits into and the hoses associatted with it.
I will run some carb/throttle body cleaner thru it from time to time.

Forgot all about the schraeder valve for the fuel rail. Had me puzzled.

A schrader valve is what you use to put air in your tires. And, yes there is one on the silver fuel rail with a black cap. The PCV is in the middle of the passenger side valve cover, it has a hose probably covered in foam attached to it. It just pulls out.

No. The PCV valve just pops into the valve cover and you pull the rubber hoses off. Do the opposite with the new valve.
