I am trying to decide on a spray-on bedliner for my 2001 Supercrew. I would like the liner to match the color of my truck and have as smooth a surface as possible.

Does anyone have an opinion on Rhino versus Line-x?
Has anyone had a color liner put on - if so, how does it look?

 

You really cant go wrong with the spray-ons is there a reason that you are looking for it to be smooth, if being smooth is a big must a plastic liner will give you the smoothest slickest surface. But with the liner you will have the wear and tear going on below it.

 

I like the Line X in my SCrew. Smooth, even finish. Held up well wiith a few things thrown in the back lately. Here's a photo form one of my albums and you can see how even and smooth the Line-X is. Don't know if you cna get it colored. Mine is black.

I went with the charcoal colored liner from Line-X on my white Screw. It looks great with the plastic rail covers, as they look more gray than anything. In checking both spray-in liners on trucks on the lot, the Line-X looked smoother and much more professional. When I had it done, the also said they can vary the texture to your needs. Would do it again if I had to do it over.

 

Line-X says they can match any factory color. My SuperCrew is blue and I thought a blue liner might blend in better. But, I am a little worried about the color fading over time.

I had a Rhino installed in November. (that's a funny sentence if you don't know the subject, eh?) I couldn't be happier. From what I understand, the Line-x may be smoother, but it's no more durable.
Mine is charcoal to match the bed rails, which looks really sharp. It only cost me $20 extra (cost usually depends on the color).
My biggest piece of advice is to check out the experience level of the installer. The local Line-x guy sounded like he was doing it in his garage as a side job. The Rhino guy had been doing it for five years at a couple of trucks/day. This will make the biggest difference on whether they remove the hardware and get an even surface.

I've got rhino lining in the bed of my f-150 as well as the rocker panels of my explorer. I've got a buddy with line-x on his rocker panels, and I'd say they are pretty comparable. The line-x seems smoother and possibly a bit harder (the rhino lining is almost "squishy" by comparison) but they are both equally as tough and they both look very good!

 

Came to this thread to ask about bed liner for my 00 HD-FORD, whether to go with Line-X or regular. After reading everything made an appointment with Line_X to spray this Thursday.

 

Get them to do the color one.... I had them do mine gray...

They're not the greatest quality... poor lighting and all, but the liner is gray, and is about 1/2 shade lighter than the bed rails, and 1/2 shade darker than the tonneau cover. I think it's great! It's the only tailgate you can sit on in the sun without roasting your hiney.

They also had a photo book at the shop I had mine done at that had some cool two-color patterns (like a gray liner with a blue Ford oval on the bulkhead, or one guy had a sweet red Ram on his bed) It just takes some extra prep-work and some creativity on the part of the installer.

I have a black Line-X and I think that it is the best looking, smoothest of all the bed liners. It sounds like this is what you are interested in. I will tell you that I have torn mine once in about 5 years (can't complain too much since was fixed for free). My friend has a Rhino and it does not look as good, but I have no doubt that it is tougher. If you are not going to haul alot of cement blocks or something, the Line-X should be fine. Just my opinion--Martin

 

Sounds like either the rhinoliner or line-x are good choices, just depends on the installer and the price, right???

Yes, and after price comparison for said same materials and finish, Line-X came out the winner in my area. Almost $100 less.

 

I know this is an old post but, it also depends on if your going to be crawling around in the back or not.

Line-X is hell on the ol body. While Rhino is much more comfortable. That said.

You can't go wrong with either.

I don't agree....my 4 year old son was rolling around in the bed of my truck today under the roll-top and loved it....had no marks on him either.

I know that when I crawl in the back of a line-x bed it's like crawling on sand paper.

Just the opposite with the rhino.

Funny though, it does seem like my 3 & 5 year olds do have a higher pain tolerence than I.
