I'm going to put a plow on my F-150 Heritage. I know a local company that has 3 or 4 F-150 with plows on them and they hold up just fine. As long as you don't abuse your truck it will be just fine.
I drove a V-6 F-150 with 7.5' plow on it and had no problems at all.
