Truck Alarm System Problems

I have a 2004 SCab F150, its an FX4 with every option except leather.

When I first got the truck, the battery was bad and about a week later it died completely which killed the solenoid that lets you start the truck when the alarm is inactive. In other words, when the alarm was set off, you couldnt start the truck and because the battery died, it didnt let me start the truck at all.

So, we by-passed that whole system and the truck has been working properly the whole time, but for the past few days now (and this is like 2 months later) the truck has been beeping when only pressing the keyless entry lock button once. Its a different beep then when you press it twice and the truck lets you know that you locked it.

So, there are two buttons under the dash for the alarm system, first is the blinking red light (which is a button) and second is a little black hidden button.

Can anyone tell me how to deactivate the system so the truck doesent beep when I lock it or at all? Because it beeps all night long when a loud vehicle passes also. I couldnt care less if I had that alarm.

The truck also didnt come with a manual for the aftermarket alarm, so I am counting on your guys' help.

Thanks,
getpower

It sounds like you may have the same alarm that I have. If that's the case, you can put the alarm in what they call "Valet Mode". This prevents the alarm from going off. To do this, put the key in the ignition and turn it to ON and then to OFF 3 times within 10 seconds. To get out of valet mode, do the same thing again (turn to ON and then to OFF 3 times within 10 seconds). Hope this helps.

do you know what brand the alarm is? Is it the Ford system or aftermarket? (I guess it would say on your key fob or if you look for the brain unit under the dash)

I have no idea what the brand name is.

But I only have the factory key fob.

Its for sure an aftermarket alarm system though.

Ill try the valet thing.

post a picture of your remote

and/or post the #'s on the back of your remote fob

hope the valet mode works for you. Aftermarket alarms are nice, but when they go screwy...it f'ing sucks. I have a Audiovox in my other vehicle and I hate the POS with a passion. I would remove it, but the damn thing is tendril snaked into everything and I'm scared of it.

The valet trick didnt work at all.

The truck still beeps when the lock button on the Ford key fob is pressed.

sorry, didn't see that part in the post above mine.

can you see the control module at all? it may have the manufacturer name on there. That is how I identified my system. Had to crawl in there upside down, but eventually found it

Don't know man. I see that you just got a factory remote, they do make basic alarms (including Ford) that works in conjuntion with, as an add-on to the factory remote keyless entry. Are you sure can't find/see the brain unit for the alarm up underneath your dash?

Is it just your horn that beeps? Or does the alarm have a separate siren?

Similar issue on same model

No response from the fob buttons on entry and attempting to start the engine triggered the alarm. Still no luck with the fob AND while the key operates the door lock, the ignition (and transmission) are locked. Have tried alternating between off and on positions 3 times (valet mode toggle) and 8 times (fob reprogramming) with no luck whatsoever.
