Trans fluid fanishing

I have a 02 Screw 5.4, 3.55 LS diff, 4x4, not sure if the trans is a 4R100 or the 4R70W. Two weeks ago when I had the local speedy lube place change the oil they added 5 pints of trans fluid, they also said there were no noticeable leaks anywhere. I checked the fluid again today and it is not touching the dipstick. Any ideas where the fluid is going?

if theres no leaks its going into the transfer case.........pull the fill plug on the case and see if fluid comes out heavily......

That seems to be the problem. Im not very mechanical but I am assuming there is a some sort of seal between the transmission and the transfer case for the fluid to escape the transmission. Is this a costly repair? Is this an easy enough repair that any shop can do or should I go to a transmission shop or maybe the dealer?

Thanks for your help.

the xfer case has to come out. then the input seal replaced. i work at the dealer...i prefer the dealer. i have seen too much shotty work come out of the small shops that i dont recommend them anymore. yes there are good ones too....just not in my area. if you have a good technichan/shop you trust bring it to him.
