I was hoping that somebody would have some advice on where i could get some information on putting a cummins 4BT into a 2000 F150. information such as the kit to do it, where to find the electronics and things of that nature. I know what all i would have to do the truk itself as in stregthening the front end and chasis and all that good stuff, i just want some more in depth information about.

 

you would have to make room for the deeper oil pan, find a transmission to use with it. some use the chevy 4L60 or something like that, then you would need a stand alone computer for it and lots of other things too.

is your truck 2wd?

 

No. it is a 4x4...

 

I would not wast my time on a 4BT. Many Ranger owners have looked into this swap and a few had done it. The tweaked versions of the 4BT and nice turbo systems are just enough power IMO for a Ranger with 35s. They are somewhat available from break trucks, but rebuilt ones on ebay are upwards of 5k+.

 

im not sure if their is a "kit" to do this. some guy on here is putting a cummins into his lifted screw. his project is postponed while he is doing some work somewhere else but he would be the best person to talk to
