You can mix leaf and four link. There is not a single problem with that, its run ALL the time. Currently I am working on gettin some Yota axles for my Sami project (gotta go pick em up.... but I have em). One I got that, I will run a 4 link in the rear, and Jeep YJ LEAF springs up front. I know plenty of rigs running something similar. So, if you want one end linked, go for it. Would help keep cost down by only do one end, and would improve ride quality.
hydro steering = generally illegal on the street. How can cops tell ? Thats a risk you run. Hydro steering isn't the best for a pavement pounding street truck. Trust me. Its a whole different animal. I would stick with regular steering box or rack and pinion. I would maybe consdier hydro-assist. Where you have a hydro ram that HELPS turn your tires, but doesn't do all the work itself. Its a helper.
Don't need a new t-case. He went with a crazy aftermarket one, because he wanted a lower cral ratio. T-case is some of the best ways to bring your crawl down. Not needed though, unless you plan to crawl.
If you want 44" tires in the long run, get those. build the truck around those. It would be your best bet, and best way to spend money IMO.
by "boxed in" he is refferring to the frame. Normal frame are similar to a C-channel or I-beam. To "box it in" means literally that. Weld plates of metal around it to make it a box. Much stronger. Good thing you have a newer F150, frame comes boxed from factory !

Thanks alot MT both you and trimble have been a good help with this. I always liked the looks of a four link so hey if the money is there im throwing it all in there so well see what i get but its still gonna come out bad ass haha either way.
I looked it up to that one shop that other guy went too and its about 800 miles away from where i am here in texas which isnt bad at all. I can drive the truck there or have someone else do it while im gone and get the process started. When its done i could either have it shipped back or maybe drive it back it all depends. Whats the shops name? Contact info? Anything closer but if not then they will be the ones ?
