theres the problem. The lowest gear you can run is 4.88's on our trucks. They make 5.13's for the rear but dont make 5.13's in a reverse cut. I think with 40+ you will want AT LEAST 5.13's or 5.30's And the gear install plus parts is usually between 1200-1500 depending on shop.
If you dont plan on offroading it HARD then i wouldnt worry about 4-link id go straight leaf springs. Its the easiest and this will support the weight of a diesel if you decide to drop one in.

Haha, get the diesel, but only if it's a powerstroke. If u get a god damned cummins or a duraLESS, then you're wasting your money.

Powerstrokes are ahh blah. All new diesels IMO are ahhh blah. They have too much emission control systems that are sucking power and mileage from them.
And if you want to get a diesel to drop in your truck skip the powerstroke. Go for a Cummins 12v they are hands and feet better than Powerstroke or duramax.
I see there are 2 types of people on this site, people that buy their crap, and people that build what they want.
