Stereo question
I have a 2003 Lightning with the stock six CD head. Awhile back I decided to buy Boston Acoustics SL80 speakers to replace all four of the cheap stock speakers. After I put them in I noticed how clean the sound was but I was now lacking bass. I wanted something simple to install so I ordered a MTX Thunderform amplified subwoofer enclosure to give me a little more bass. My question is will my new system sound alright like this, or should I order another amplifier to power the Boston SL80 speakers? I'm not into super loud or super bass, I just want to have a nice full sound.
Since you already have the Thunderform, I would just throw it in the truck and see what YOU think.
Chances are, your lacking bass from your Bostons because your stock, or even aftermarket headunit just doesnt have enough power. I bet a nice amp on those Bostons would make you fall in love all over again with them. However, once you start getting into a setup with a sub, you are usually crossing over the speakers so no or little bass goes to them, and it is all left up to the sub.
Love the stance on that L too.

I put in my amplified THX Thunderfome subwoofer enclosure and it compliments my Boston speakers very well. I tried to buy another four channel amp today, but they didn't have one that would fit under my seat so I went ahead and had it installed with out one. I can tell you that it really sounds good for a stock CD player and I'm kind of glad that I went the way I did. Thanks Bartak1 for your advice!
Thanks, any help is appreciated. It's a 3/5 drop. It handles real good and rides real nice.I put an airbag kit on the back so I could raise it up to three inches when I haul my dirt bike on the back.
