exactly what trimble said! i have a magnaflow SI/DO setup, a K&N '77 series CAI, and an Xcal 3 tuned by Justin @ VMP Tuning. My truck has some pep!! but it will eventually be a killer! plan on keeping the truck for project work, and doing a possible twin turbo setup for the strip...but that is a LONG way off!

I replied to your exhaust topic.

Anyone that tells you that ANY exhaust will sound horrible on a v6 is a moron plain and simple.

People associate "ricey" sounding exhaust to engine size thats not always true.

Ive been drowned out by some very nice modded out sixers.

Funny thing about it is that if some one wanted to add an exhaust to a 3.8L mustang nobodys gonna give them a hard time.

Like i said the right exhaust will make it sound good without trying to sound like a v8.

Also long tube headers from a 3.8L mustand will fit a 4.2L

I agree with the Tuning, gearing, and intake. I got the XCAL2, AF1 intake and 4.56 gears. I'm quite impressed with my trucks get up and go. It tows the boat MUCH better now. I'm still on the fence about putting an after market exhaust on my 4.2L V6.

Do an underdrive pulley instead. People say they feel just as much of a difference compared to what they did from their 87 perf. tune.

I didn't get a full exhaust set-up. I just had a buddy with a muffler shop cut out the OEM muffler and weld up a Flowmaster. It sounds great.

Cool, I was thinking of doing pulley's as well as E-fans. Just wasn't sure about the quality of E-Fans... I read some bad and some good things about them.
