I know these are some cheap subs, but its all i need and it was CHEAP. ha. The box has 1 1/2 feet of cubic air space per sub. 4 sealed compartments. Box is going to be completely Fiberglassed next week. The 6x9's are going to be molded in with the box. It raised my seat height about 6 inches. Ive got 2 friends that are 6'2 and 6'4 and they say its not bad for them. head still clears the headliner. Im also building 6 inch brackets out of billet aluminum to extend the reach to the factory brackets. Also extending the seat belt receivers. Then Im going to paint the box to either match the black interior or else silver to match the trim.. what do yall think?

Don't bother with 6x9's, those things are so dated and should have went out with the 8-track cassette. Ugg on the amp placement. Put those things behind the back seat on the rear wall using MDF.

Far as the sub box, not bad but really way too big. For that space you could of left out 2 subs vented the other 2 and probably sound alot better.

the subs are inset an inch and a half and the feet protrude and extra inch. i enjoy all the great comments! for all the haters.. check out my myspace profile that you all seem so interested in.. there is some of my BEST work. Fiberglass.. my box was put together with scrap wood and in about 2 hours. hate all you want, but take a look at the video and tell me if you can do better.. im down for a challenge! For a "pro" your install is really lacking on your truck. Nobody uses 6x9 unless they have to and we don't have to in our trucks. The doors easily will handle 6.5's and since your pretty good at glassing you should be able to fab up some door pods to handle some nice mid-bass speakers as well. That's our only downside, the lack of speaker placement since we don't have factory dash speakers that we could use for highs. But I would suggest putting some midbass in the rear doors. My rears aren't midbass but I use them that way since I left out the tweets and I adjusted the headunits crossovers to feed them full range and the inline to cut the highs.

The sound stage is going to be none existent with this setup as well. Really need to change that if your going to be using this vehicle as a selling point of your skills. On a side note, if I had the money I could do it too. So soon as you send me some mat and resin and all the other materials we can have our challenge haha.

i mean, i probably wouldnt have used the 6x9's but other than that i think its pretty good, having the amps mounted vertically under the front of the seat is more original than just the back wall

 

ok ive got a few questions, is it up or down fire? and is there nothing to allow it to fit over the "hump" in the middle? so it just teeters?
