the powerstrokes wiring is a beast. wrong voltage to one of the hundred wires will cause problems. the 12 valve cummins needs 10 wires to operate. none of the hassle. plus the PSD is a bigger, heavier motor. trust me, being a ford man, that was my first choice. but after doing the research, the cummins is better for this swap.
also, i considered the V10 swap. i saw that thread and it fit beautifully. just picked the diesel over it. no real preference there.
