Rocker panel / bottom of door coatings...?

So after watching these forums for a while I've decided to finally start building up my truck a little. I've ordered 35" nitto terra grappler a/ts and a 3 inch body lift. But I've got a problem with rust underneath the driver side and passenger side doors...its starting to round the corner and crawl up the door now. My truck is black. I've sanded all my problem spots down, sprayed on a primer and then rustoleum black. Ive decided that I dont like the way it came out...noone else would really ever notice but I do and its annoying. Ive seen other vehicles with a strip along the bottom of their doors..some make this strip with a roll on bedliner. I think it would come out ok if i did a 8 inch strip along the bottom of the truck. Now my question is what to use? herculiner, another type of roll on bed liner, or somthing like undercoating? The roll on bedliners seem to come out good but many complain about chipping like a year later. Has anyone had any experiance with this situation? I'm looking for somthing affordable so lining it with rhino lining or somthing like that is kinda outta the question.
